One day in 2008, I checked my email from friend and producer Harry Hughes to let me know that the series he created on anthropology had won a Local Emmy Award. I was happy for him, and proud, knowing that I had helped on the series...notably by donning makeup on a 105 degree day and pacing around a dry lake bed.
What I wasn't prepared for was his email which followed a month and a half later...basically telling me that I qualified for a statuette in the "on camera talent" category!
